Join us, Thursday, November 30th, as we taste our way through
the fortified wines of Portugal and discover just how
complex and nuanced they can be.

For this event we will only be tasting during one session starting at 6:30 pm. As per usual, our own John Johnson will be leading the tasting as we see why Port can be so much more than a dessert wine.

The Wine Rack and Bourbons Bistro – Repeal Day Roll-out Featuring Maker’s Mark

Join us Tuesday, December 5 as we exercise our 21st Amendment right to good taste. We’ll be celebrating Repeal Day by rolling out the barrel! Meet up with Maker’s Mark Master Distiller Greg Davis at The Wine Rack at 6 p.m. and help us roll the Maker’s Mark® Private Select™ barrel down Frankfort Avenue. We’ll roll all the way to Bourbons Bistro where we’ll be greeted at 7 p.m. by passed appetizers and a complimentary cocktail.

Then, gather round to hear Greg Davis discuss the creation of the Private Select program while you taste samples of Maker’s Mark® Cask Strength and the new Maker’s Mark® Private Select™ expression crafted by our friends at Bourbons Bistro and the Wine Rack.

  • General admission tickets ($25) include appetizers as well as a welcome cocktail and tasting.
  • Snag a VIP ticket ($100) and you’ll also receive a bottle of the featured Maker’s Mark Private Select.

Freedom never tasted so good.

We hope you can join us this upcoming Wednesday evening for a very special Event Tasting at The Wine Rack.  On this cheery November night, Barton 1792 Distillery’s own Josh Hollifield will take us through a guided tasting of the following:

1. 1792 Small Batch
2. 1792 Single Barrel (chosen by The Wine Rack)
3. Barton 1792 Chocolate Bourbon Ball Cream Liqueur

 * This Event Tasting marks the release of our 2017 Edition Single Barrel of 1792; & gives you a great opportunity to compare nuances with the Small Batch version. Cheers to that!!

Josh Hollifield has been honing his love of Kentucky bourbon for many years, starting his career at some of Louisville’s most reputable dining establishments, including the Oakroom at the Seelbach Hotel, Limestone Restaurant, and The Galt House Hotel. Josh then went on to manage the private barrel program for Horseshoe Casino before joining Barton 1792 Distillery in 2012 as Visitor Center Manager. He now is also running the Single Barrel Select Program.
